Sherman-Bunker Mine
The Sherman Bunker mine
is situated in a beautiful mountain area of Sparta. The only drawback is that
I came out of it with about 30+ ticks all over my body.
The mine was considered as an
exploratory Mine, and operated between 1854 and 1905. More then 100 tons were
pulled out of a cut into the mountain that was 50 foot long and 35 feet deep.
All has since eroded, what remained in 2005 is shown below.
