Pikes Peak & Longshore Mine
Pikes Peak and
Longshore were 2 iron mines right at the southwest end of the Taylor and
Buckwheat mines. The mines actually connected with each other underground at
about a 110 foot depth.
The Pikes Peak Mine had
a principle sloped shaft which was over 300 feet long. The Long shore mine was
100-200 some odd feet long. The entrance you see below may or may not be the
sloped shaft, The sloped shaft may actually lie behind an iron door you see
below..

Look up the side of the hill, ths entrance was here somewhere..

Maybe the slope lies behind this solid concrete structure,.. with an iron door!
