Empire Mine Adit #1

 The Empire Mining company was founded in 1864. The mines are located in the mountains of Otisville NY. The vein found was abundant however soon afterwards the low price of lead and general depression of mining interests suspended the workings. Adit number one had show interesting mineralization in the ore vein, however the size and extent of the workings made it clear that large scale mining was not conducted in this tunnel.
